[b]Truncate the BI files of progress databases[/b]

Hi...we are trying to upgrade from Progress 9.1D to Progress 9.1E...we have instructions from Progress on what steps to take to do this...but they note at the bottom of the instructions that "It is strongly recommended to truncate the BI files of your databases using the old version of Progress before the installation of the new Progress version".

I'm not sure how to do that...can someone help me out? Does that just mean to compress the files?
 
This is a function of the 'proutil' command, see your PROGRESS System Administration Guide and System Administration Reference manuals.

Here is the command as used on my HP-UX UNIX system:
