I'm looking for some ideas. I have 3 servers internally.

Internet
1 Cisco router
1 server with Windows 2008 server(DNS,ADDS) - Server W1
2 servers with Windows 2008 servers with Terminal services roles - Servers TS1 and TS2

Our router is setup to map RDP externally to TS1. 30 users/licenses that are remote connecting (RDP) through the internet(not VPN, speed, saturation issues.. not an option) to our TS1 server. I don't care how it is works ultimately.. either max 15 users per TS server (total 30 licenses).. or load TS1 server with 15 users then next 15 are redirected to TS2 server.. or load balance both... or some other solution.

Could I put the TS gateway on the W1 server with internal DNS.. have it redirect at that level to either TS1 or TS2?

Any ideas would be great?
Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark, this maybe a bit late, but I'll reply anyway.
What you could do is set up TS Session broker (i think it's called a session broker in R1 and connection broker in R2)
What this will allow you to is "cluster" your Terminal Servers and give them a virtual name which you can point your router at, and then let the connection broken do all the work. Not only will it load balance the sessions, but it will also reconnect users to the same server if they become disconnected.

Hope this helps

Hi Mark, We are a partner of a company with a product which could help, it also gives you the ability to run your desktops/apps from other operating systems (iOS, Linux, Max etc).

Let me know if you are interested.
