Does Mac have a built in remote desktop in the OS and can you remote in to a Mac from a PC running XP?

Apple sells a product called Remote Desktop.

You can also do the free VNC thing. Search for VNC on versiontracker.com

I neglected to mention that Remote Desktop from Apple is for Mac-Mac connections. It would not work for btalon.

The Microsoft client option is not suited either because btalon seems to be looking for the other way around. btalon wants Windows-to-Mac, not Mac-to-Windows.

VNC seems to be the only option here.

Thanks for the info. I downloaded the OSX VNC and already have VNC for windows. Hopefully that will do the trick.

I have the OSX VNC set up on the Mac, and its using port 5900. In our firewall I have the NAT mapping an external IP address to the internal IP address of the mac. I also have set up the service for the Macs internal IP Address to use the OSX VNC. The service is set to use UDP. I've actually tried TCP as well, but I can't get either of them to work. As soon as I activate the NAT for the Mac, it loses internet connection. I have many PC's setup the same and have no problem with them.
On the mac side, I have hardcoded the IP address in as well as hard coded the DNS address (I have already tried DHCP ). Still nothing. Any ideas from anyone?

Does the Mac have its own firewall enabled?

it isn't a Mac thing - I think it is the way VNC runs across platform. We can VNC from PC to Mac and Mac to Mac but not Mac to PC. Maybe the way the ports are specified?

VNC should run either way between platforms. Make sure that you are using the same type of VNC. There are some branches of the AT&T original code that may not be friendly with others. For example, I'm not sure if Window's TightVNC interfaces with Mac well.
