Hi,
I appreciate any advice. We currently have a website we are hosting on a unix box (IPlanet web server). We want to split the website up so part of it runs on the current server, and part of it runs on a windows box (IIS web server). Is it possibe for 1 domain ( to be split over 2 servers, therefore 2 IP addresses? We want the website visitors to use the same domain regardless of the server serving up the web pages. I'm venturing way outside my knowledge base here, so I really appreciate any advice for if this is possible and tips for what needs to be set up.

Thanks
Mary

There are many ways at which you can approach this. I would assume that you want to run some services off the unix server and then some of the windows server.

What I would do is run everything of the main server and then if you need to access resources/services off the 2nd server you could setup a sub domain.

Examples:

Main Server
Web Site

2nd Server
Email
Traffic Monitor

Thanks very much for the response Trey. I'll look into setting up a subdomain.
