Hi,

I am completely stuck so hoping somebody can help me... would hugely appreciate any input even if the answer is that what I am looking to do is not possible.

Contextual Information

I have a basic report with just a few rows and two groups. The report shows the number of peak and non peak calls by US state and then by month
.

I have added some titles underneath the outermost group so I have a report which looks as follows:

[blue]
CALIFORNIA
Peak Calls Non Peak Calls

Jan 3 6
Feb 2 9
Mar 10 12
FLORIDA
Peak Calls Non Peak Calls
Jan 21 7
Feb 11 2

[/blue]

What I am trying to achieve

However I want to format my report conditionally so that the titles 'Peak Calls' and 'Non Peak Calls' only appear
on the first group ie only once on the report.

I have experimented with visibility and conditional formatting and cannot see the wood through the trees on this one. [mad]

I may be missing something here but....

Could you not just put the "Peak Calls Non Peak Calls" into text boxes and put them in the report header? Or on the report above the state name?

Hi SQLWilks,

Thanks for replying so quickly.

I could just put the titles in the report header and then they will appear once only but they will appear above the groupings.

I am very new to Reporting Services and am exploring what it can and can't do and wanted to see if I can conditionally set the visibility of a row dependant on the group number ie use a function to determine whether it is the first group or not.
I don't see any function that will allow the user to work out if the group is the first one or not.

Hope this helps.
