Hi,
very recently I have started getting the Error in ReportNet
QE-DEF-0370 Maximum number of database connections(20) exceeded.

Anyone has any idea how can I fix that - and how it happened ???

Thanks a Lot in ADVANCE !

Is this when you running a report or when you login into reportnet?

talk to the dba-er. He can change the number of database connections.

Hi ShanChatterjee,

The CQE (Cognos Query Engine) component of ReportNet has a database connection pool governed by two parameters:

Pool size - (default value is 20). [ie once there are 20 active connections, any further requests for new connections are rejected]

Timeout - (default value is 900 seconds).

These settings are stored in CQEConfig.xml which can usually be found in Program Files\Cognos\crn\configuration. However, it is not installed by default - you will find instead a file called CQEConfig.xml.sample. You will need to copy it, and rename the copy to CQEConfig.xml. Once you have done this, you can edit it and amend the Pool size, then restart the ReportNet service.

Hope that helps,

MF.
