Hi All!

I am new to databases, well I have experience with them, but I'm sure you all know, that once you get started you soon figure out that you need to know that extra wee bit about programming them and manipulating them to do what you want. I am of course talking about VBA.

I am at this stage now, and I would like to begin learning VBA. In the past I have rushed into things like this before and took a good long walk down a path to no mans land. So I thought it would be a good idea to ask the experts first where the best beginning point might be, i.e. a good book, white pages etc.

So if anyone out there would like to inform me of the best place to learn VBA I would be very grateful.

Kindest Regards

The way I learned was by letting wizards do the hard work first of all, use the help files to learn what this code did and how it worked then rewrite it myself, often in a more efficient way. The target was my completed application in a state I would be happy selling to a customer.
Then, I looked things up on the web and MSDN (MS web site) if I needed more help, and looked at Access development web sites, of which there are many. Over time, my knowledge grew and expanded, as did my bug fixing, error trapping etc.
What I did not do was to post questions on TT or similar forums asking for help. Sure, I learned from other people's posts, but having part code or issues written for me, while faster on my part, ends up not teaching myself much in the long run.

I have one Access development book, and I last looked at it about 3 years ago.

Thanks very much, Dimandja, John and Zemp. That will help allot, and I will be sure to check the links all out.

I really just want to get an understanding of the programming, so as I can then can move on to writing my own code for developing my databases.

Kindest regards
Cillies
