We have an HP LaserJet 5P that until recently appears not to recognize the Manual feed tray as it did before. Before, if we opened the manual feed tray and put in a paper, regardless if the file was set to a default tray source or if the printer itself was set to Auto-select; it would do a manual print.
Now we open the manual tray and put in a paper as before and the printer insists on printing from the lower tray. Our only recourse is if we purposely go into Page Setup in Word for the file we want to print and set paper source to Manually Paper feed.
It's my belief that if the Manual feed door is opened and a sheet entered, regardless of any default printer settings, the printer is going to do a manually print.
I will admit this printer is on a Novell Netware 3.2 network where some Users and Groups were changed along with printer rights. Could these changes cause the problem?
Thanks,
Jim
