I am currently working on a cranky HP8500. As I print a config page all is well except all colors are smeared or stretched, more like BLEEDING when ink jet printed paper has gotten wet. Only the operator side is unaffected. about an inch from the edge. Then bleeding occurs. The Black is totally perfect. All SUPPLIES have been changed, colors, drum, transfer, transport belt, cleaning roller and other ASSY's. I even changed the HVT boards, thinking it might be a high voltage problem. I have talked to two separate HP Tech's and they are even stumped. This problem is persistent and is on anything that is printed. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
chisum

Have you checked/cleaned the paper path ? Is there any excess/loose toner on the transfer belt or the drum ?
I hesitate to suggest this;if you have a tonersafe vacum
cleaner blow out the unit(remove all consummables first).
If there is not a lot of excess toner, you might want to look at factory default all settings and try test prints.
