New client ask me to fix there legend...

I have two extension (MLX 10D) that the HFAI button will not light up and work. Why is the HFAI button disable? How do I trouble shoot and fix this problem?
Thanks =)

Test the phone by doing INTERCOM, SPEAKER and then pressing STAR and then ZERO ZERO.

This will show you if you have working LED's on those buttons, and, if you touch the button, the LED will "TOGGLE".

Okay, both phones HFAI lights do not come on. All other lights come on except HFAI. I'm not at the job to try another set; Is it safe to say those phones need to be replaced and its not a programming issue?

Yep, sometimes those LED's do burn out.

I had one on the 1st Intercom Button go bad, and the client just had me do away with that button.

However, you can't do that on an MLX with a FIXED HFAI button.

It may or may not work, it just won't light up.

Thanks, you have been great help.

Also i visited you website (merlinman) it is very neat and simple good job on it. I just have a question for you. You stated that a partner phone can be plugged into R7 legend phone system.
I have tried plugging a partner set into my legend R7 via MLX pack and my partner set did not work. Can you please explain to me how you do this???

Well, I guess I need to re-visit that old Web Page and see if my wording is confusing.

That being said, to clarify, a Partner phone requires an ETR Module. The ETR Module is a 16 Port device and therefore, it requires a CKE4 Processor or later. It also provides 6 ports that can be used as Tip & Ring (STANDARD PHONE, Fax, Modem) as well.

That option came to life in the R7 Legend, and is still valid in all releases of Magix as well.
