Hi guys,

I have some issue that need a guidance here. I got a multiple lim system up to 6 Lims that is running on TSW.

Currently the system keep receiving the HIGH CALL RATE alarm on LIM 4 and it means that the average call rate in LIM 4 has exceeded the threshold of 12 new calls every 10 seconds.
The normal call rate within a lim shall be less then 9 calls per 10 seconds in a multi-LIM system. In a 1-LIM system a higher call rate per time period is permitted. Thus due to the heavy traffic it lead the alarm occur and eventually the LIM 4 will restart in order to clear the fault/alarm.

This is what i found out on my documentaion :
HIGH CALL RATE
The average call rate has exceeded the threshold of 12 new calls every 10 seconds. Normal call rate shall be less then 9 calls per 10 seconds in a multi-LIM system. In a 1-LIM system a higher call rate per time period is permitted.

The LIM has due to high call rate or signal queue length rejected new internal (if ADDINFO1 =1) calls, or all new calls (if ADDINFO1 = 2), to prevent a LIM restart.

ADDINFO1 = EXS status. 0 = Less than L1 EXS buffers used.
1 = L1 to L2 EXS buffers used.
2 = More than L2 EXS buffers used.

where L1 and L2 are buffer levels set in EXS. For example L1 = 70, and L2 = 120. The alarm is sent when L1 is reached.

ADDINFO2 = Average number of new calls the last 10 seconds.


I currently done the extention relocation from Lim 4 and now theres around 500 extentions left since i think the capacity is almost full(640 extention per Lim)in the first place. But base on info2 in alarm, the new calls in the LIM4 is still above 20 calls.

Now, what i should i do or consider in order to prevent the alarm occured and eventually will make LIM 4 restarted?

If you don't know what generate this high call rate then I
will recommend to start traffic recording - extension lim 4, trunk lim 4, operator lim 4, internal pcm lim 4 etc.
