I have an 8-server farm running win2k sp4 and MFXPa Fr3. We publish a desktop using Tricerat. All the servers have identical applications installed, and 2 of them have an extra application or two that is run as a published app. The rest of the apps show up on the desktop, with only the apps corresponding to the users group membership available. When we originally built the farm, adding a new server wasn't too much of a problem, as the hardware is identical and I could clone. However, as we now add servers to the farm, the hardware is enough different that cloning does not work. I would like to be able to build a fresh server using win2k or 2k3, install MFXP and join the farm, then use some kind of 3rd party utility to take a picture of the apps on one of my servers and restore them to the new server and have them actually work. Anybody know of anything like that, short of upgrading to XPe?
