After you've stored a copy of the relatively small file on a separate device, you can reboot your Bordermanager server. However, we have run into an issue where the filters we configured are not saved, and some kind of default filters are in their place.
To restore your filters:
-Copy your backup of the filters.cfg file to the <server>SYS:ETC directory (overwrite the current file if you saved the backup file with the same name)
-Go to the Netware server console and type unload ipflt (you may need to unload additional nlms)
-Unload filtsrv
(again you may need to unload additional nlms)
-Type filtsrv migrate
-Type reinitialize system
-Go in to filtcfg to verify the backup filters were restored
