A 7026 keeps rebooting about two or three times a day, but sh ver displays the following reason:

System returned to ROM by error - an Error Interrupt

Cisco sites this as an 'unusual reboot' and does not give anything further on the subject. Anybody ever come across this before??

Have you checked ths status of your memory, i.e. how much do you have, how much is being used?

Loads of memory left. Also, CPU is running at about 8% over a given time period.

Has happened to me now and then. Have you determined if the error is hardware or software related? You may need to look at some of the following perhaps:

1. Turn on syslog and review the logs generated immediately prior to the crash.
2. If you suspect software, review your IOS on Cisco Bug Toolkit and upgrade if necessary.
3. Get your router monitored via some sort of SNMP manager like MRTG and try and determine if memory or CPU is the cause immediately prior to the crash.
4. If you suspect hardware, try removing one module at a time and see if the device continues to reboot itself.
4. You can review the following URL for more details about what you can do as well:

5. Failing the above, you may need to call Cisco TAC.

what is the iomen set at in your config, this error can mean that if you have spikes in traffic and the router is carrying out other procedures in the back ground, the router will fall over as it runs out of memory to carry out in/out duties and the error will be the same as the one displayed on your router.
