AX100 Serial Cable

I've got a second-hand AX100 here with no FLARE. I've got the image files and EMC disks (with no FLARE), but I can't get anything off the serial port with a standard cable. Is a normal null modem cable used? If not, does anyone know the pinouts? I'm wondering if this thing is DOA.
