I got this higacker called Awola that is disquising itself as an anti-Adware/virus scanner that installed itself... I don't really know how. But it keeps popping up a "warning" from the system tray and saying that I need to buy their software to get rid of the "threat" (false one).

I've been all over the internet trying to find a way to find it and delete it off my machine, but everything that I delete is really only a decoy. I've taken all the entries it put in the registry, and deleted anything that is related to Awola -- but still it pops up in the system tray.

The only way I have found to keep the "warning" from popping up and their "trial" software from doing its false scan is to disable the system tray in the registry. Everything seems to work OK and the hijacker can't pop up and pain me in the backside.

Is there anyway to find out where it hides and get it out of the system tray?

It would also be helpful if you post a HiJackThis Log here for our discernment, in order to get all the nasties that you may have...

AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 is another product to try...
You can also have your PC online-scanned there as well...
