We are getting this error message consistently on the same directory and server.

The directory exist and at the moment we assume that what it means is that files are open in the directory.

on servers that are successfully backed up the pathing in the log file shows the following:
\\serverA\D$\on the servers that get the warning the message the log file contains:
serverB\D$\ ( no \\ in front of the server name )

has anyone had this issue as well or know what the solution is?

Install an ARCserve client agent on the specific server. This will work (better functionality, faster throughput).
