Hello-

I am trying to find a way to upload a greeting file to the auto attendants on our AVST Version 8.289. Normally in the past we have called in to record these but now need to upload a file. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I record my files in .WAV format using the cheesy sound editor from Windows XP - you could probably use anything, but I make them Mono to keep the files smaller - no need for stereo.

Be in the mailbox you want to drop the file in and hit Alt-R (for Recordings) and you will get the normal recording box like you see for subscribers. Then hit import for the announcement or whichever and point it at your file on your PC.

You should be good to go.

You could also use the Audacity program from You need to know / work out the compression settings by downloading an existing recording, playing it and find out the sampling rates etc.
Setup a record or as donb01 said just record using windows, if you need to change the sampling rate then use audacity
