Avoid indexing unwanted/restricted areas of site

How do I avoid that Verity indexes unwanted/restricted areas on my site?

I'm not sure but I think you can move them to a different folder before indexing them and then return them to their folders after indexing the collection.

Let me know if that works.

Strangely eventhough I temporarily take the resticted files away to another folder during the indexing, the files are searchable afterwards.
How does verity work really? When I do a search for a certain word verity returns the same page several times to the results page. Can I come around that in someway?
