in my director movie, there is basically a main screen with a number of buttons. When you click a button, it jumps to the correct spot in the timeline, and there is an avi there to be played. It stays there for the amount of time the movie plays, then jumps back to the main screen, where they can watch another movie. This works fine when I test it inside director, but when I publish the movie, and load it in a browser window, when you click a button, the screen is white rather than playing a movie. It stays for the allotted time, and then jumps back to the main screen.

So,... everything works fine, but the avi's don't seem to be loading.
please help

I got it to work on PC in Director, but whenever it is viewed in a internet browser in a shockwave movie. It just shows the background through the video. I am not completely sure, but I believe there is problem with veiwing avis in dcr files.

I still do not know definitely how to fix this problem. I still assume that avis in shockwave files are out of the possibilities. In that case I would consider having a button that when clicked on opens another browser (possibly using the gotoNetpage action) and the url in question would be another page that has a player embedded in it. For instance, I have seen sites that have QuickTime player or Windows Media Player embedded in them. I do not know how to embed these players into a html page right off the top of my head, but there should be plenty of tutorials out there to answer that question.
