When I "make movie" and render an AVI, the resulting movie has stutters.

When I use the same process and render a MOV, the resulting movie is perfect.

Why?

Thanks,

Sounds like the AVI compression (yes, there's terrible compression on AVI movies).

Most times, when creating a MOV file, the defaults are set to "Animation".

The resulting file will be a MUCH BIGGER file, but, as you've noticed, with default a cleaner look.

AVI may have some cababilities which allow you to choose a different compression or GOP setting.
