I used an Olympus mju400 to take a video clip at a wedding but forgot to set the camera for the correct artificial lighting. The clip has a distict red hue as a result. How can I fix it?
It's an avi format.
I'm a total video novice!
I dont have any video editing packages.
I'm running Win XP Home, sp2 with 500mb ram and a 200gb hard drive.
Would appreciate any advice, thanks.
Pete

The only way to edit the color is with a video editing package, like Pinnacle Studio. Make sure that there is a codec for your specific digital video format.

Thanks for the info, but can you please explain "codec".

A 'codec' in this context means a bit of software that allows your video editing package to read your video file. There are several different kinds of AVI files and not all editing packages can read all of them. I don't think you'll have any problems with one of the 'big name' packages though, particularly if your PC can already play the video file.

There are free video editing packages available but they're a lot more complicated than the good paid-for ones.

As Nelviticus said, the "avi" name is used by different digital video formats, going from raw video to the more advanced MPEG-4 format. You can surely know from the camera documentation what exactly is the format used by it.
