Thanks in advance ..

Well, your post did seem to indicate that you were looking for recommendations.

Anyway, ffmpeg & mencoder are in the order of my preference.

I started trying to install mencoder but I have tons of depencies missing...

Is there anywhere that I can get all the depencies in one hit....

Or are there anyother command line tools which are RPM based and would of been compiled with the depencies included... ??

I run Fedora and I get ffmpeg/mencoder rpms from repos.

Have you tried yum? If the package name is mencoder for example, the all you should have to do is type "yum install mencoder". Yum will automatically download and install the package and all its dependencies. Yum is usually already installed on systems that use the RPM package management system.
