avi movies

Im trying to figure out how to put some of my 3d animations on my flash site (site made entirely in Flash 5). They're small avi files that play with Windows Media player

You could upgrade to Flash MX - or ask to someone to do the following for you -, create a .swf in which you would embed the video (avi,mov,mpeg...)and then simply load that movie in your Flash 5 movie.
Otherwise, you probably could use a popup or another frame in a frameset where you would embed the WMP player and control it from your Flash movie in another frame.

Try out Flix 2.1, from Wildform ($129). It converts AVIs to SWFs very quickly and with high quality. I've tried the demo version and it works great.
