OK, I recently purchased AVG Internet Security to replace the AVG anti virus we've been running over our network for the past couple of years.

The whole package installed fine on our Win2k SP4 machines, firewall, anti spam etc. Different story for our new XP Pro SP2 machines. Although everything installed fine, when I log in to an account on these machines it take about 5/6 minutes to load a roaming profile and get to the desktop. If I load the same account onto one of our win2k machines it loads in seconds. What's so special about XP Pro to cause this?

Thanks

Dan

OK, AVG threw me a lifeline, I have to allow:

> Windows RPC Service
> Ident service

in the firewall rules. Logs on as quick as ever now. Not sure what the difference is between XP Pro and Windows 2000 logons, I was told to ask Microsoft!
