How long must the .bin files for AVG be kept? They are under Explorer, Windows, All Users, Application Data, Grisoft, Avg7Data, upd7bis. And also the log files, and history files?

The only .bin files required are the current updates (there may be more than one of these), older versions can be deleted.

The only reason you might want to keep them is if you have a machine that is behind with its updates, if you try to update this from the website the file can be very large. or perhaps it has no internet connection. So you can apply each of the stored incremental updates in date order, AVG will accept only the next small update in sequence (so you must have all of them) if you cannot do a single large update. (hope that makes sense?)

Steve: Delphi a feersum engin indeed.
