I have phone time in 15 minute intervals. I need to get the average phone time for a particular rep, but I have to show it in a report that sums months and years. I have the average call time for a day, but I need it for each month and then for the year. I keep getting a running total error when I try to average the daily sum. Any ideas?

Crystal can't aggregate aggregates (e.g., sum an average).

If you give an example of data and an example of desired output it may be easier to suggest a solution.

Are you sure you want the average of the daily average to get at the monthly and yearly averages? Another approach would just to calculate the average at the monthly and yearly levels.

Also, do you have duplicate records or conditions that require the use of running totals? You might be able to just group on the date both yearly and monthly and insert averages.

If you must use running totals, using the running total editor, select {table.calltime}, average, evaluate using a formula (plug in your conditions), reset on change of Group 1 (year). For the monthly running total, change the reset to Group 2 (month).
