Does anyone have any experience of the following situation:
We run SQL Server 2000 on Windows 2000 with SP3. We run the latest service packs on the SQL server. We are not experiencing any locks on any of the tables, yet for some reason the Average latch wait time seems to be very high. This is despite the fact that the other two latch counters (Latch Waits/sec and Total Latch Wait Time (ms)) are running as expected. Even when these are at around 0 the latch wait time on our server is over 400.
As a consequence of this performance is suffering, I wonder whether anyone else has had a similar experience.
Thanks
