Does anyone out there have a comparative analysis or any type of documentation that compares the Cisco Call Manager to the Avaya G3 platforms? We currently have Both CCM (20 users) and Avaya G3R (1000+ users) Cisco is coming in to do a demo on how much money they can save us if we use just CCM for new locations in place of Avaya. I’m looking for ammo to back up the Avaya Solutions.

Well for small remote offices, cisco will save you tons of money because for remote offices all you need is a cheap 1700 router, a wan link, powered switch and phones.. and then you have a remote survivable switch with POTS lines..

Avaya to do this you need the S8300/G350 solution, and then still need the router as well..

Now feature wise, there is no comparison. Its all what you need out of the system.. Most small remote offices only need key system like features, which the CCM can offer..

Also please note that CCM 4.0 jsut came out and offers quite a bit more features over version 3.x..

I engineer/install/maintain both systems. Each have their strongpoints..

From an IP architecture view, the cisco solution is better, from a PBX feature perspective, the avaya is better. Its only a matter of time until cisco catches up.. but I can say that end the end i think avaya will win out, because definity is proven, and will not get replaced for call center purposes..
