We are looking into faxing over IP.

We have CM 7.0 and were wondering if T38 is included and if there are license requirements or anything else.

Thanks

T.38 is built in, there are a lot of considerations around it but it's supported and works. No licensing required as far as I know.

it's hit or miss, still prefer an analog line any day

Thanks

Could you expand in what those considerations are?

google "avaya voip foip moip toip" for the doc about modems over IP.

t.38 is capped i believe at 9600bps but is the only standard across vendors. Avaya passthru is proprietary but can hit 33kbps - depending on how heavy fax traffic is, and if people send resolutions "super fine" (which is double of fine which is double of standard) you can go from copper 33kbps to 9800, and if someone sends a superfine fax, it could literally be 15 times slower as t38 than a standard fax was before.
