can I download avaya site administration.
Thanks for your help.

rsteele,

no, asa is not available for free download at avaya's website. i can't understand the reason but it just is not. you can only get updates, but the asa itself you should buy, its price is about $30. anyway, if you already have avaya's pbx, you should have asa as well, it always comes with pbx. if you don't, what you're wanting it for?

We wanted to purchase an upgrade of ASA. We contacted our distributor and it is no longer offered as a stand alone. If memory serve's, it was about $600 for the least expensive package containing ASA.

Correct, ASA is not part of the AIM (Avaya Integrated Management) package. I do believe that you can get a copy of just ASA when you perform your nect CM upgrade. I have done that in the past, but I do not recall the price.

While we're on the subject.......does everyone know you MUST purchase AIM if you still want to use VAL manager? i.e. we were using VAL 2.0 on an R10. When we upgraded to CM2.2 it no longer worked. We installed AIM 2.1 that we purchased with the upgrade and it still didn't work. Denver said VAL must be at the same version or greater than the PBX. We got ahold of a bootleg AIM 2.2 (not sure how available it is since 2.1 shipped with the switch) and we were back in service. There we no modification to the Definity software ir the VAL boards, it was purely the VAL Manager software version that had us unable to modify/backup/restore our VAL boards.
