I have a copy of ASA 1.12 loaded on my system and have several hundred systems set up in the persist.dat file. Does anyone know how to upgrade to ASA 2.1 and be able to continue using the same persist.dat file. When I try and load 2.1, I get and error stating that a previous unsupported verison is loaded and I need to load the supported version and then upgrade. Anyone else had this problem? I really don't want to uninstall and have to redo all the systems that I have loaded in the system. I do have a backup of my persist.dat file, however. If I can't reuse the same persist.dat file, is there a way to export all of my systems and import them on the new load?

Thanks for any help

Chris

When we upgrade we have to go through some crazy steps. We found that if you save your persist.dat file, uninstall your current version, load the new one and here is the strange part.

Go into you new app and then create a new site. Save it and get out of the app. Now copy your saved persist.dat file over the new one and your systems should be there. I have not tried on 2.1 but it has worked for all other upgrades that I have done.

For some reason it does not like it unless you create a dummy site first before you copy over the persist.dat file. You can always go back if you keep a copy of your persist.dat file and something goes wrong.

I ddn't see any upgrade for ASA 2.12. What I saw on Avaya site is ver 2.1 next to ver 3.0 upgrade.

I have DSA 1.5 and 3 G3R6 systems. Can I upgrade to ASA 2.1, and would it do me any good?

Thanks
