We are in the process of segmenting our network. I inherited this current mess but enjoy the opportunity to right and fix it. Long story short the compnay is using a /16 subnet and we are segmenting to a /24. They grew over the past 10 years and never had a network engineer properly segment their network during that time period. Im not a phone guy so that is why im looking for some help/best practice. We need to segment the Avaya (linux) server and 500V2 expansion system to a new VLAN. Ive identified the following locations that need to be updated, but was wondering if ive missed any or any recommendations for best practices, proper order/steps in the process as well.
Environment:
IP Office Manager 9.1.7.0 Build 163
500V2 expansion system
-system >> LAN1 >> LAN Settings >> IP/Subnet Mask
-system >> LAN1 >> DHCP Pool >> DHCP scope
-system >> Voicemail >> VM ip address
-line >> gateway address
-IP Route >> gateway IP address
-Same areas in the 500V2 Expansion as above ^^
I appreciate any insight or comments!
