Hello all,

In the process of upgrading some Server Edition Servers from R9.1 to R11.1.

The client would like to update the firmware on the Phones before we Cut Over to the New Servers/R11.1

I am looking to load the R11.1 Phone Firmware to the R9.1 Server, Upgrade the phones and then Cut-Over at a later date.

Now I am only accustomed to doing this on an IPO 500v2 SD Card. Guessing this is done via Web Manager?

You could add them to the primary in file manager.
Not sure what the affects will be seeing that 9.1 and 11.1 is quite a spread.

Keep in mind that this upgrade requires a step upgrade to 11.0.4.5 then you need to be onsite to upgrade from 11.0.4.5 to 11.1 using the USB upgrade method.
this will downgrade the phone firmware during this step then upgrade the firmware again once you hit the final target release.
You would be better off just following the normal upgrade method.
Sounds like your just adding a layer into the mix that isn't necessary. You are not saving time but adding time.

I should of mentioned the upgrade involves two new Primary/Secondary servers. So no step upgrade here on the servers. The IPO500v2's will be upgraded thru the normal process.
