I've got an S8720 CM4 and a Cisco Call Manager R6. I want to tie them together with H.323 trunks. I've been scouring the sites for quite a while trying to find the right docs but can't find the ones that match my Cisco release 6. I've got my Avaya trunk group/signaling group and UDP tables all configured, but am stalling out on the Cisco side.Anyone know where I can get the doc that shows the h.323 integration between Avaya CM and Cisco CM6?

Thanks,

Phil

Thanks, I've got the trunks up, but when I call from the Avaya to the Cisco I get a denial event.

18:41:49 denial event 1166: Unassigned number D1=0x8c9e D2=0xf01
18:41:49 idle trunk-group 10 member 9 cid 0x15d
18:41:50 idle station 55555 cid 0x15d
18:42:48 TRACE COMPLETE station 55555 cid 0x0

When I call from Cisco to Avaya, it works!

I think the secret is in identifying the digits that are coming in from the Avaya system. Can anyone give me a layman's definition of calling search space?

Cancel that last request!!

It was the calling search space on the gateway.

New day, new headache.

I'm trying to make a call from the Avaya to a Cisco phone across a routed network. The call is dropping because of a codec mismatch. I've got my Avaya gear using G.711 and G.729.

How do I tell which codec the Call Manager is expecting?

Well I am not 100A% sure, but couldn't you go into the ip-Codec in the avaya and just put g.711 and if that works then you know?

If it doesn't then remove g.711 and put in g.729 and re-test.

It turned out to that I created a new ip-network-region in the Avaya that used a different ip-codeec set which only allowed G.729 to be used when calling.

Thanks to both of you!!
