posting this on the Aastra/Ericsson Forum as well ( Ericsson to Avaya Definity )

not using a QSIG connction

really odd one here as we are being handed ISDN2 lines off an Ericsson via an S0 adaptor as it passes off to our Avaya MM720 card and have setup the BRI board & trunk group .

the system is in Rotterdam

using the Ericsson for outbound / inbound calls via them passing us off line to our Avaya PABX system / MM720 BRI board

Avaya S8300
CM5.2.1
Avaya 9600 sets
Avaya MM720 board

seeing the line in-service in the Avaya S8300 when viewing CM but when calling said numbers I see my trunk go active but nothing is being passed as in seeing no digits from the Ericsson system -

as I understand the S0 adaptor converts the signal from the Ericsson system too something the BRI board can understand - don’t really understand how they are passing this off

setup as enblcoc/enbloc in my trunking as they are sending 4 digits on the call per their tech

if I setup my trunk group as overlap/enbloc and insert digits in the trunk group form to match a singular extension the call routes through to the singular end point and we get audio in both directions so it appears my BRI board settings and trunk settings are fine just not seeing any digits from them – even if it was the wrong number of digits I should see something.

if the Ericsson techs disconnects the S0 adaptor and connects a PTT Telecom ISDN Vox 930 phone he can make and receive calls just not sure of the conversion and what we should be setup as I expected a line from a carrier / provider not coming off another system.

** this is the part that has me confused is it an extension or line coming off the Ericsson system ? **

what does the S0 adaptor convert from and too ?

the system passing off the line is an Ericsson Consono with an S0 adaptor to my system

I have Setup BRI before in the past but this one has me guessing when coming off another system.

cheers !

why are you using S0 adapter?
I imagine that the CONSONO will have a tlu79 and ACM have a MM720 BRI board right?
I think must remove the adapter and connected directly together, then use the CONSONO as a master sync (as if it were the public operator) and the avaya slave.
you just have to check the cables (tx rx) the configuration of the ROU CONSONO (ROCAP, RODAP) and routes (RODDP) ...
If you post the prints configuration md110 and acm..

thank you for the response -

seems that we need to setup 2 " directory numbers " on the Avaya CM side for each channel from the line as they do on the actual PTT Telecom ISDN Vox 930 phone when connected directly to the line -

as the explained it to me they don't send any digits as the setting is on the actual phone in this case , so one would need to replicate in the Avaya CM if that makes sense

this would be on the Avaya bri board settings 2nd page - just missing something as it's not allowing me to set anything in the port directory numbers -

cheers
