What are PPN and EPN and their differences? Please, help me with this.

PPN is processor port network and EPN is expansion port network

The differences are googleable, be sure to include the key word Lucent (and maybe AT&T) depending on how old your equipment is. They are mainly in role/function different in that the PPN is where the processor goes.

Do you have specific questions about them?

Yes, I have. I need what they meant and their functions - I see they have circuit packs the same as a normal PN. But how do they differ and why do we need them if we have a normal PN.

PPN contains the processor - if it's a PPN it should have processor TN boards and not just circuit packs for phones/trunks. If it's an EPN then it doesn't have a processor in it (unless it's an SRP).

The processor being the 'brain' of the system.
