My lovely support vendor just slammed me with information that I need to sign up for Avaya PASS or PASSPlus service or we will no longer have the level of support going forward.

After just dropping the bill/quote on the table without expalining, I thought I need to ask around about it.

I have CS100, Call Pilot and Aura 6 contact center platform supprt now through this vendor. They are saying in order for me to get AVYA support, I need eith of the 2 options. Of course their support cost didn't go down but now another layer of support to drive up the cost.

Can anyone tell me if there is a standard per port cost for the PASS and on the PASSPlus. I use to have Nortel SRS but the PASSPlus is like 3 times the cost that was.

Is the cost of these programs set by vendor or by Avaya?

Any info on this subject would help. Think I need a new support vendor.

Here's the thing. With PASS and PASS Plus your vendor is just going to be in a position to provide hardware support. Unfortunately this is happening everywhere with everyone. It doesn't matter if you are a small company or one of Avaya's large enterprise customers. If you want any type of support you have to buy in and it ain't cheap.

your vendor needs to explain to you what they are providing in detail against what you are paying for. they aren't sure right now because it's changing and if you ask them to bring in the avaya rep, avaya will more than likely take the maintenance from them.

tball is right. avaya is working the way nortel should have.
