Hello,
I have an Avaya Partner system in our office.

We installed a new line to the office, which rings to extension 21. The line is not in a pool, etc.

The problem we're facing is that the line keeps ringing when dialed, but voicemail does not pick up.

I'm having trouble figuring this out, because the new line rings to the correct extension and extension 21 does have a voicemail box set up.

Any guidance would be very much appreciated!

Thanks for your time!

At Ext. 10:
Feature 00
Left Intercom twice
#208-(new line number)-21
Feature 00

Will route the line to 21's mailbox when not answered.

Thanks for the info-- I've followed those steps and the same problem still occurs. I'm not sure if there is some disconnect between the line, extension and voicemail box.

Are there any other steps recommended?

Thanks again!
M

Be sure the extension has a mailbox, and has Auto VMS Coverage turned on, #310-21-1

Make sure the line is assigned to a button on the extension, and it has either Immediate or Delayed Ring, and make sure you know the correct line number (Feature 00 at the extension, then press the line, and you will see the 2-digit line number)

Check that the line is not assigned to the Auto Attendant #206-7-(Line Number)-2

Hi-- thank you for your help, the voicemail now kicks in (I think it was the Auto VMS Coverage)

One more thing-- it now only rings once before before going to voicemail. Is there a way to have it ring a few times to allow the staff member not to have to pick up the phone right away?

Thanks again!
