Telephony Tech Gurus,

I have the following system:
Partner ACS Processor R6.0 (3x8)
VM PC card(large)
Voice Lines:2
Fax Lines:1

I want to implement a scenario where if all lines are busy, callers calling in will be put on hold indefinately until the person's call is picked up. While the person is on hold, hold music will be played and periodically announcement this message, "All agent are currently busy, please stay on the line for the next available agent. Your call is important to us."

Please advise a step by step procedure to implement such office telephone setup. Please include if I need to contact our phone carrier if extra features needs to be enabled and paid for.

Thank you in Advance,

Rex

Use an ASA (auto system answer)pc card to answer the line, connect an audio source with recording to music on hold. Set ASA for MOH. Get more lines if you can afford it. If you have a backup pc card it will have to be removed to use the ASA, but can still be used for backup/restore.

Unless I'm reading this question wrong, if all lines are busy, callers will get busy signal , call will never reach the Partner system!

i will have to agreed with gene1 on this one.....more lines to begin with maybe?

SET CRTL ALT DEL = #728

I get this every once and awhile from customers. I urge them to think about it. If all lines are busy the next call is going to get a busy signal from the telephone company. Nothing more can reach your location because you have no more lines.

The answer is to add more lines to handle the call volume.

You can only have call waiting on the last line of the hunt group (as hunting will overide call waiting), and what happens when that line is on hold and the call waiting comes in?

Get more lines, or get a voice mailbox from an answering service or the telco, then get Call Forward on Busy for the last line pointed to the mailbox. Since the service or telco has mega-incoming lines, those calls won't hit a busy.
