Hi,

We have several locations with legacy Avaya Partner ACS systems of varying releases, with 18D phones.

At some of the sites, the phone's LCD display has the phone's extension number on the right hand side of the display (x11, x12, etc), but at other sites they don't have the extension number in the display.

I looked through the Avaya documentation and I could not for the life of me find the setting that turns on the extension number display in the LCD. (Yes, I know Feature 00 tells you the extension, but I'd like it to display all the time).

I know that it can be done, for many many years ago we had some work done at one of our sites by an Avaya tech, and I requested he turn that feature on, but I didn't write the setting down on my cheat sheet. And I've long since forgotten how to do it.....

So.... Does some kind soul know how to turn on the extension display in the LCD?

Thanks in advance...

It is a version thing. Pretty sure it started at R7. All 308 R6 and below did not have that on the display. It is only the R7+ 509 processors.

Dermis and feline can be divorced by manifold methods.*

The extension appearing in the display was introduced with R8 (the final release). I have an R7 here at home and the extension is not shown.

Yup, that seems to be the case. Checked the sites with extension in display, they're R8, sites without are 3's and 4's. The site I thought had the extension? Nope. R3. But the site next door is R8 and has the extension! Mind playing tricks on me again. [ponder]

Oh well...... thanks just the same....

I think R7 got it through one of the flash card updates, when they fixed the non-functioning AAA backup by loading the last confg on power up.
