Has anyone ever tried connecting a lineside T1 card from one PBX to a lineside T1 card in another PBX? Will this work?

don't think so, the card gives you 24 analog ports to use. Not really sure how you would tie them together.

No, it would not work. You would have to go Line Side on one PBX to a regular T-1 card on the remote PBX. It would work but the functionality would be different then going T-1 or PRI between switches.

that's an iteresting idea. So configure the T1 card as loop start trunks in PBX B and the lineside as analog sets in PBX A. I'll have to try that to see how or of it works. thanks for the idea.

Just wanted to provide and update. First, thanks to KCFLHRC for suggesting this.

I connected a lineside T1 card to a DDP card. Provisioned the DDP card as a DTI loop and also provisioned a COT route and made it a private route using loop start signalling. I then created a trunk (loop start) with a PVDN in my new route. I then provisioned an analog set on my lineside T1. I can now call the analog extension number and it will ring the private line on a telephone set. I can also pick up the private line and I get dial tone from the analog lineside T1 port.

Some may be saying, "so what" or "why or for what purpose would you do this". This arrangement acts as channel banks. I can provision in PBX A a DTI trunk card/route/trunks (loop start) and in PBX B, I provision a lineside T1 with analog ports. If I assign PVR keys to any Meridian set in PBX A, they are getting dial tone from PBX B as if their telephone set was physically connected to PBX B. The benefit to me in this exercise is; I can set up the analog extensions in a group call list in PBX B. Then from my Meridian set connected to PBX B, I can press one button and ring multiple PVR keys on Meridain sets connected to PBX A. This is a way of extending a feature "Group Call" to another PBX. You can also use this arrangement to provide OPX circuits to another PBX without using external channel banks.

Again, thanks to KCFLHRC for pointing me in this direction.
