Avaya MLS-18D phone set

I have just received a refurb MLS-18D telephone set. My question is that the backlight of the display is always on. I can adjust the contrast lower, but I thought that the display would go dim after a few secs of non-use. Is this correct?? If it is not, how do I go about programming it to automatically go dim when there is no use??

Any help would be appreciated!! :-D
