I've downloaded the G450 MIBs. It's a zip file with 20 or so individual MIB files. I am using a MIB browser to import and view the OIDs, but trying to understand which of these 20+ files are relevant. Using this with a 3rd party monitoring tool. Try to that is. Our current monitoring platform connects vis SNMP, but the info we get is very limited. It seems to discover the various components in the GW, but is not getting any data from them. If there's ping losses it will alert, but not much else.

So that's why you were asking about ftp to avaya :)

Have you setup the traps from the gateway to your NMS?

You'll get things from CM - like MG-DS1 alarms. They're "warning" level in CM because 1 PRI card isn't a big deal in CM, but they'd be more severe in the G450 cause it's a smaller device.

Most traps will be in the AVAYA-ENTITY-MIB.mib

Yea, needed the mib files. For this NMS I have to specify the OID, which is a pain. It doesn't let you import a mib file. I used a MIB browser against the Avaya-Entity-MIB and I get about 20+ different events. The descriptions are not all that helpful, so will have to trial and error them.
