Hello

I programed a record btn on my phone to record extensions and it works but what it does is it plays a prompt that the user and the outside caller can hear it says something like your call is being recorded is there a way to not have that recording come on

thank you

I'm not sure.

In many states recording a conversation without the consent of both parties is against the law. [poke]

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

we do play a message to the outside caller that says your call may be recorded for trainning purposes i just dont want that message to come on when i press my record btn after oberving into an extension

It's built into the Merlin Messaging - you would need to use a handset splitter to feed a tape or mp3 recorder, look into an external service observation unit, or switch to something like IP Office.

I want to make myself clear what I need to do is to get rid of the can message that is played to the caller and the user when i press my record btn the message that comes on is not any message that we have recorded its a can message from avaya this comes on only when i press my record btn after i have the ext in oberve

please help

As TTT stated, it's built-in to the Merlin Messaging and cannot be avoided. To get around it, you could get a digital recorder, connect it through your handset, and then record that way.
