I have an Avaya J169 model 700513634 Avaya SIP phone. I need to add it to a third party phone system. I see there's a different model J169 that's for use with Open SIP. Is there a setting on this model that I can change to allow it to be added?

I dont think so. you need the 3pcc version of that phone to use it on a non-avaya call server.

The standard Avaya SIP models can be switched to 3PCC firmware (don't ask me the process, its in a manual somewhere). However, the models manufactured and shipped as 3PCC phones cannot be switched to Avaya SIP firmware.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

There are guides on the support portal for configuring J100 with various non-Avaya servers.
