Hey Guys
I need to configure IVR in IP office 500v2. what options do i have? i know their is builtin autoattendant in communcations manager but it doesnot have direct extension transfer ability. The other option i know is of voicemail pro..but for that i need another dedicated server for voicemail apart from IP Office 500v2..in that case i have to manage 2 devices instead of 1. Is their any other feasible solution?

The embedded voicemail in a v2 can transfer to extensions directly, wouldn't be much point otherwise. (It's not CM by the way) :)

Hi, Thanx for your reply. I mean to say is Caller can dial any extension he wants.

yes it can as long as dial by number is enabled for the digits you want to direct dial

Then no VM Pro is required, but if you do this it needs password protecting at the very least. Remember VM Pro can run on a UC module which sits in the system chassis not externally :)

I appreciate your help :) So what i got is i can use AA for greetings. Caller can dial any extension number he wants. No need for Voicemail Pro License. But what if Dial Key contradicts with extension number...For example i am running 2xx series as extensions?? should i not present caller for option 2 for that in greeting?

Not if you want to enable dial by extn from that menu, they can't overlap, but you don't need to enable that option :)

Thanks Guys. I wont enable '2' in Auto attendant :) .

you have too if you want to dial any 2xx extension

Yes/no.

The Direct Dial-By-Number setting affects how any menu actions set to DialByNumber operate.

- If enabled, the number dialed to match the menu action is included in the digits passed to the system. So if that was the 2 action, the 2 is included. So to dial 2xx extensions the caller would dial 2xx, ie. "Just dial the extension number required".

- If not enabled, the number dialed to match the menu action is not included in the digits passed to the system. So again, if it was the 2 action, to dial 2xx extensions the caller would dial 22xx. ie. "Just dial 2 followed by the extension number required".

You would use the first if you have a simple extension number range all with the same leading digit, you don't mind callers being able to dial any extension number, and you haven't already used that leading digit for something else.

You would use the later option if your extension number range was a bit more inconsistent (some 2xx, some 3xx, etc) but you still wanted just one attendant action to be able to get to them all or if you want to use the 3 key to get to a 2xx range (by not having the 3 included in the digits passed to the system).

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

your right forgot about that, also he could have used 2 as a sub menu and break it out from there
