so anya one which hs got an Idea upon?

Check to make sure the phone is actually downloading the files, not just requesting them. Open up monitor and under trace settings|Services, select TFTP and HTTP. Reboot the phone and watch monitor to see if any of the files are actually getting transferred. As always with monitor, try to do this when the system is quiet, otherwise you will be bombarded with many lines of information.

Check your settings in Manager. If it is a 500V2, I always select the file source as the SD card.

Also, you may want to recreate the SD card. If all the files are not there or are corrupted, this will fix that source of issues.

Lastly, try the phone on another system, preferably a demo system that has nothing else on it.
