Hoping someone can help out here.

We have been reselling the Avaya IP Office for many years and are considering picking up the NEC SV8100.

I was wondering if anyone out there has experience on both products and what the general thought was on the IPO vs the SV8100. Strengths, weaknesses ?

Thanks.

Hi

I work with both systems

They both are good systems.

The SV8100 handsets are a lot better than the Avaya ones

But the Avaya is better For CTI and networking in some cases

I would normally go for the SV8100 over the Avaya because of handsets and cost.

I still sell and install both systems it just depends what the job requires which one I go for.

I will agree with the above but add that the NEC has better paper label phones and Avaya has better label-less phones. If you want PC applications or unified messaging avaya is better. NEC is better for hospitality. NEC can still replicate square key systems, Avaya cant (without loosing a lot of functionality by replicating a partner). I also find it takes a few hours longer to program a new NEC than Avaya. With the NEC end users can change their names without going into a management interface.

Im sure there is more but I feel like im rambling.
