avaya ip office ip403 not booting fully

i have an avaya 403dt i have cleared the config using dte commands of at-x2, at-x3,
also tried to upload operational using the at-x command
it failed i think because bin file was in wrong directory
system now stuck in permanent boot
status light is red
dt port leds are yellow and green
i cannot access unit with manager
tried pinging the old ip of 192.168.42.1 but no reply
have even tried broadcasting the bin on 255.255.255.255
still no joy
i can still talk to the unit through the dte port
is there a way to load up an ip address or bin file through the dte port using the loader commands

i would appreciate any input into this problem

Solid red usually means it is looking for the right bin files. The 403 can not go to 4.0 so make sure you are using 3.2 or lower and that you have the correct boot P. I have also seen them come back with an IP other than 42.1. look at your TFTP log and see if you see any activity.

Be aware the latest version you should be using is either 2.1 (78) or 3.0 (578) as you are using DT Handsets.

As long as you follow the faq this unit will be up and running in no time

Just ensure

Firewall off.
PC Has static IP of 192.168.42.x (11 Onwards address)
There is a bootp entry for the device
Your working directory is pointing to the location of the 403 bin.

Sorry i missed the DT part in the original post. TheProvider is correct on the release you can use. unless you are not using the DT ports. I think some other people here have upgraded with out the Dt release and it makes those ports unusable.
